e are a bohemian cafe located in the heart of Old Town Berea, just down the hill from the college library. Our menu includes a variety of  baked goods and fresh bread, sweet and savory crepes, daily specials and seasonal soups all made on location, from scratch. We proudly support local food, we serve Organic Fair Trade coffees, teas and espresso drinks, Kentucky Proud gelato and much more! We have a variety of vegetarian soups, salads and sandwiches - to find out which of our soups are vegetarian look for the asterisks on the weekly soup menu. Last but not least, we like to use the best and freshest ingredients we can get our hands on... Look for our specials featuring homegrown, local, and Kentucky Proud herbs, produce, meat and more!



Cafe News

Dinners are here! As of Monday, April 6th we are offering a daily dinner special, separate entirely from what is available during the day.

We're still trying to work everything out, so call for info on the evening special. Each night's meal will be themed, the schedule is as follows:

Monday - International Night
Tuesday - Pasta Night
Wednesday - One-Pot Night
Thursday - SURPRISE!
Friday - Pizza Night
Saturday - Steak Night

Join Sushi Chef Matthew Arnsdorf on Saturdays from 11am-2pm for hand-rolled vegetarian sushi! So come down and support good local sushi, local produce/ingredients (when available), and local AWESOMENESS
at the Black Feather!

Things You May Not Know About Us
*We bake our own bread and pastries.
*We use local unbleached flour for our bread and baked goods - it comes from Weisenberger Mill in Midway Kentucky.
*Our gelatos are all Kentucky Proud.
*We make our soups, baked goods and crepes from scratch.
*We bake everything in our bakery case fresh on the premises.
*We have a different soup, salad, or side every day.
*We use only Fair Trade Organic coffee, tea, and espresso.
*Our cafe was most recently a residence, but before that it was Imogene's Cafe.
*People have thought that we were the following businesses, based on our name: a voodoo shop, a strip club (the Black Leather Cafe?), a burlesque club, an underground ninja training dojo, and last but not least an anarchist book store. (And we just thought it was a cute name!)
*We have smurfs working freely at our disposal (we've heard).
*We buy meats and produce locally when possible.
*We have live music events.
*We have three dining rooms, a sun room, a coffee lounge, and a patio.
*You can reserve our dining rooms for private events.
*We cater for lunches, dinners, and events.
*You can rent out our space for parties!
